Abstract
Born in New Orleans and raised in Lake Charles, Louisianna, Pizzolatto was educated at Louisiana State University and the University of Arkansas. His work has been published in The Atlantic, Oxford American, lowa Review, Missouri Review, and other magazines. His collection of short stories Between Here and the Yellow Sea was named by Poets & Writers magazine as a top five fiction debut of 2006, and he has been a finalist for the National Magazine Award. His first novel, Galveston, was published by Scribner in June 2010. Pizzolatto currently lives in Los Angeles with his wife and daughter. He was hired to write a pilot for HBO as well as the screenplay of Galveston for director John Crowley. He also joined the writing staff of AMC's The Killing which premieres in March, 2011. Pizzolatto was previously a professor at DePauw.
