DePauw University, founded in 1837 as Indiana Asbury University by the Methodist Episcopal Church, has had many well-known and accomplished presidents during its history. From the first and youngest, Matthew Simpson, who was 28 when he assumed the duties, to our newest president, Lori S. White, DePauw's presidents have used their many gifts and talents to further the mission of the university.
