An Introduction to Roman Studies (in Chinese)
It is a how-to, companion/handbook type of book for Chinese readers who are interested in Roman history. The book includes a brief narrative of Roman history, a critical introduction to the source materials, a brief survey of scholarship from the Medieval era all the way to the 21st century, an elaboration of scholarly arguments/perspectives on 9 select research themes (such as "Roman imperialism", "Romanization", "Roman economy", "Enslaved people and freedmen/women", etc.), and two appendices on "Key terms" and "Re(sources) in print and digital forms". The first edition of the book was published in 2014 and reprinted in 2016. The current edition is the second and expanded version of the first edition. The map in the book was created by Pedar Foss, Professor of Classical Studies at DePauw University.
