Abstract
This research examines the current state of industry thought on interpreting and utilizing online measurement tools like page views. 13 Journalists from a wide variety of publications were interviewed about their newsroom’s attitudes, practices and ethics. Their knowledge helped to answer the question: can newsrooms chase online audiences while adhering to traditional newsroom ethical codes?
