Abstract
Tailg8 is an online peer-to-peer marketplace that allows tailgaters to rent tailgating spots from residential lot owners or other parking entities at college and professional sporting events, concerts, and other events that include tailgating and socializing before the event. Tailg8 is similar to Airbnb and ParkWhiz, other online marketplaces for renting apartments/houses and parking spots. There are no similar marketplaces for tailgating spots online, which is a major reason that Tailg8 was thought of and created. Tailg8 will allow lot owners, with large lots that can contain many cars and people, to post an exact number of parking/tailgating spots for a specific nearby event. Tailgaters for events can reserve their tailgating spot before they arrive at the event and can pay for it as well, ensuring that they have the spot for the event. Tailg8 simplifies the process of tailgating for both the tailgater and lot owner due to the fact that spots will be reserved beforehand, and payments can be directly deposited to the owner immediately on reservation by the tailgater. Tailg8 enables a homeowner’s lot to be filled before the event even begins, as well as allowing a tailgater to guarantee that they have a tailgating spot reserved.
