Abstract

The Greek language can be very hard to translate due to the fact of their different alphabet. Online translators always provide multiple translations for a word or phrase, and a student can have a hard time figuring out which one is the proper term. Textbooks will only have the Greek or English translation and most of the time, that is not enough. The Greek letters are fairly different from the English alphabet; furthermore, Greek translations include several different kinds of accents and breathing marks. With all of these different factors, translations between English and Greek seem to be very difficult. EnGreek is designed to provide literal translations of Greek and English for users. This software is very easy to use as it is very similar to other translators. Once the user types in a Greek word, the program interacts with an API that will provide the user with the literal translation. This eliminates any confusion where Greek words or phrases have multiple English translations. Interpretation is the key component when one is trying to understand a Greek passage. Without it, Greek words and phrases can have different meanings.
