Abstract

With so many games on the market right now, many are bound to be repetitive and overlap with each other. Random Dungeon aims to break this trend by bringing a fresh and captivating experience to the players through its core mechanic: randomness. In Random Dungeon, the player will go through a series of levels. The player’s main goal is to reach the deepest level of the dungeon and defeat the final boss there. To go to the next level, the player will have to find the key and door on the current level. Throughout the level, the player will encounter various enemy types. To defend themselves, the player will have to find different weapons, upgrades that can be found in a chest, or be dropped from enemies. The core mechanic of the game is randomness. Everything in the game is randomly generated upon pressing start game: map, enemies, pickups, etc. This is to create replayability so that the player doesn’t get bored.
