Abstract
At DePauw University, students who need transcriptions of audio content have limited accessibility options. Currently, the university tries to help by hiring a student to attend classes and take notes, but this approach can be challenging and isn't the most efficient use of resources. NoteScribe is a website that converts MP3 audio files into text, improving accessibility for everyone in a community. NoteScribe uses advanced speech-to-text technology with AI and MML to transcribe lectures, presentations, and other audio materials, turning them into text that's easy to access for both students and faculty. Automating the transcription process, reduces the reliance on human note-takers and provide fast, accurate transcriptions. The site is user-friendly, allowing users to upload MP3 files and get their transcriptions quickly and easily. Users also have the option to translate the transcribed text into different languages, which is especially helpful for international students who might struggle with complex terminology. Additionally, each script and MP3 file can be added to a class folder that integrates with Moodle, making it accessible to everyone who needs it.
