Abstract
Earworm is a text to audio conversion software that allows a user to upload an online text file, article, newspaper, or textbook and convert it into an audio file which the user can listen to instead. A web application with a user interface allows the user to upload a PDF file of the reading of their choice. The software initially converts the file into a text file, which is then turned into an audio file that the user can download locally onto their device. The software is free to use and users can return to a downloaded audio file for as long as it remains downloaded on their device. Earworm allows users to skip through the audio file to specific timestamps, control the speed at which the text is read, and translate the text/audio into another language. Earworm is designed to make learning more efficient for its users by accelerating the tedious task of reading scholarly articles that do not include audio functionality. In doing so, Earworm aims to make all written sources available on the Internet more accessible to everyone.
