Abstract

Reverend Bill Breeden will discuss The Times of A Sign (1994) documentary, among others, and his lifelong commitment to peace and justice in his Compton Lecture, “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Apocalypse.”

The Times of A Sign (1994)
Not everyone in Admiral John Poindexter's home town in rural Indiana was pleased when a street was named in his honor. One man [Breeden] was so outraged, he kidnapped the street sign. A quirky look at the Iran-contra affair through the exploits of an eloquent and off-beat minister who ends up in jail when big-time politics come to a small town in Indiana.
