Course Description

This course is intended to build your writing skills in organization, coherence, and development. The class is centered on American academic writing and will prepare students for liberal arts college writing and research.

Student Outcomes

By the end of this course, students will be able to

  • read critically: identify, summarize, analyze main ideas
  • plan, write, and revise academic essays
  • engage in peer review
  • craft responses to readings
  • synthesize and compare sources and ideas
  • find and cite secondary sources
