Abstract

We've all heard the question, "What will you do with that major?" and we know that a liberal arts education sets students on a path toward a wide range of careers and future endeavors.

Librarianship is one such path for which DePauw graduates are well-prepared. From English and math majors to sociology and Latin minors, our grads have gone on to earn library degrees and currently work as librarians and library directors in all types of libraries (academic, public, school, and special) across the country.

Some of these alumni worked in the Libraries during their time on campus, while others connected with librarians during research consultations or at the recommendation of their faculty mentors. Some found their way to libraries on their own. We are thrilled to be in touch with these librarians and hear what they are accomplishing in their respective libraries. Many have participated in conversations with current students considering library science as their next step after graduation.
