Description
Neighborly is a hyperlocal online marketplace designed to connect Greencastle residents with dependable local help for everyday household and small business needs. The platform addresses two related challenges: residents often struggle to find trustworthy support for services such as yard work, babysitting, technology help, moving assistance, cleaning, and tutoring, while students at DePauw University and Greencastle High School often seek flexible ways to earn income in their free time. Through verified accounts, service listings, detailed requests, and provider profiles that include availability, pricing, and local affiliations, Neighborly helps structure community-based service exchanges in a safer and more accessible way. By strengthening connections between residents and local student providers, the project demonstrates how thoughtfully designed technology can support economic opportunity, trust, and everyday life in Greencastle and similar college towns.
