Description

Peeler Art Center, Visual Arts GalleryCome to Peeler to watch a performance of “The Spoon Factory” by Professor Sarah Cowan’s Histories of Performance Art class and stay for a long table discussion hosted by the artist, Betsy Redelman Díaz, on the queer crip craft library exhibition as it relates to disability, queerness, intersectionality, and craft more broadly. A democratic spin on a panel discussion, the long table is an experimental public forum that co-opts the atmosphere of a dinner party to facilitate casual and intimate conversation on complex topics, blurring the line between audience and performer. This is a participatory, discussion-based event and we look forward to hearing your experiences, questions and impressions. Accessibility: ASL interpretation will be provided for this event. Touch tour and braille artwork labels included throughout the exhibition The venue is wheelchair accessible, and seating will be available for all attendees. There are no strobe lighting effects present in the show. A low sensory space and stem toys will be available during the event and audience members are welcome to exit and reenter. Masks required.
