Senior Thesis Exhibition: Artist Talks

Come view the tremendous accomplishments of DePauw University’s art students in the Senior Art Exhibition. Each student will present a brief statement about what inspired their creative explorations during the opening event. Stay for refreshments and the opportunity to talk to the artists individually.

Marla Helton of Serendipity Yoga Studio loves to share her passion of yoga with her students. Certified in Shambava Yoga, Marla enjoys exploring the many variations of yoga and combining them into her unique teaching style. After seeing the benefits gained by her students, she focuses on making yoga accessible to anyone interested in gaining more strength, flexibility and balance. The DePauw Percussion Ensemble presents its annual program of contemporary solo and chamber works for percussion, composed and improvised, in a non-traditional concert setting. Directed by Dr. Ming Hui-Kuo, the one-hour performance fuses contemporary art and music in the galleries at Peeler. Refreshments will be served following the event.

Join us for an artist talk featuring Christie Anderson about her exhibition. The talk will take place at the Peeler Art Center in the University Gallery (upper level). During covid, the dioramas became a form of escapism, where viewers could pretend to shop in the konbini (convenience store), enjoy having friends over and playing in the kawaii bedroom, crafting in the pastel hobby room, or relaxing outside in the forest. The environments invite viewers into another world and my dolls are the tour guides. This event is free and open to the public.
