Course Description
Upon completion of three years of jazz studies in jazz performance practice, students must display proficiency in the following: • Improvisational/voicing skills on II/V/I progressions (major and minor in all keys) • The study of other orchestrational skills (drop-2, poly tonality, modal techniques etc.) • Repertoire (30 tunes from the standard repertoire) • Etudes/technical studies • Transcriptions • Soloing • arranging
