Course Description
• Develop a solid conceptual and mathematical foundation in the topics covered in this course: Interactions of Light and Matter, the Wave-Particle Duality, Introductory Quantum Mechanics, Models of the Atom, Introductory Nuclear and Particle Physics. • Continue to develop the skills of “thinking like a physicist”. • Expand problem solving skills • Learn mathematical techniques used in the topics of study in this course. • Continue to develop ability to explain conceptual and mathematical ideas in written format, especially as this relates to problem solving in physics. • Lab Goals: Gain experience in experiment design and data analysis techniques
