Course Description
BIO 450 is the senior capstone course in the Biology major. Students read, present, and discuss research papers from a variety of areas in biology. Students must have senior status and have declared a biology major.

Student Outcomes
1. Recognize and apply knowledge acquired in prior Biology courses at DePauw to experiments in primary literature articles. 2. Critically and efficiently identify appropriate primary literature for presentation and discussion. 3. Extract important content from review articles and original research publications and synthesize information from multiple papers to identify unifying ideas. 4. Read and critically evaluate experimental design, results, and models presented in primary literature articles and demonstrate understanding of this content. 5. Identify gaps in our knowledge within the context of papers being presented, and identify the next critical questions to be answered.
