Course Description
Drawing is learning to see. Drawing is a form of immediate and responsive art-making. The resulng work can be incomplete or independent. Drawing is a useful way to develop arsc ideas and a personally relevant visual vocabulary. Many arsts feel as though they can take more risks in drawing than in other more expensive or labor-heavy pracces. It is a highly flexible and personal pursuit. This class will introduce concepts that will carry over into other visual pracces, while also developing skills specific to drawing. Since this is an introductory course, much of our me will be spent developing what we will refer to as the arsc “hand” and arsc “eye”. In other words, there will be plenty of looking, and plenty of doing.
