Course Description
based on the first three seasons of Dix pour cent (trans. Call My Agent), a popular French comedy-drama television series, and using a cultural studies approach, this course will focus on how the contextually rich texts of the series produce cultural meaning and may (or not) serve as an indicator of ‘French’ cultural values. In addition, the course will focus on real-life language use as well as interpretive and presentational communication through listening/viewing, speaking, and writing in French. Expect to engage in group and pair work and to actively participate in class. A Netflix subscription is required. all course materials will be distributed in class.
