Excerpt: "What is the relationship between the African Diaspora and the Bible? The potential answers to such a question vary widely. My answer is that the forced migration, or dispersion, of millions of Africans into the crucible of the modern Atlantic plantation economy as cheap labor is pivotal for understanding Africana biblical interpretation. African New World enslavement was central to this economic system; it affected the African continent as well as the Americas.
