Abstract
This presentation outlines practical strategies for utilizing nonverbal communication to project confidence and enthusiasm during video conference interviews. It focuses on five primary dimensions of body language and presentation: eye contact, attire, posture, camera framing/gestures, and facial expressions. The speaker details specific techniques for virtual environments, such as splitting eye contact between the interviewer's video feed and the camera lens depending on who is speaking. Additionally, the video establishes rules for interview attire to optimize personal confidence while preventing visual distractions, and provides physical guidelines for maintaining open, engaged posture while seated. Finally, it highlights the importance of managing hand gestures within the camera frame and leveraging the nonverbal rule of reciprocity through smiling to foster a positive interaction with the interviewer.
