Abstract

SPLIT is an interactive Android application that gives users an opportunity to stay organized and motivated with their workout regimen. SPLIT provides a workout journal where the day’s workout may be stored, a circuit timer that improves the quality of circuit training, and a photo library to track changes by storing progress pictures. SPLIT provides a user-friendly interface that is very easy to understand. The workout journal requires the user to fill out a form that contains information for the following: Workout, Sets, and Reps. Once the user enters this information, they are able to view their exercises for the day by viewing the Exercise Log. This feature will be useful for users who often jot their workouts down on a piece of paper but end up losing it. Many who incorporate circuit training into their workout regimen often experience losing track of how many circuit intervals have been accomplished. This results in failure of an effective circuit workout. SPLIT eliminates this problem by allowing users to set the times for their circuit and rest periods. Once rest periods begin or end, SPLIT notifies users to either stop or start their circuit training by a distinct sound. SPLIT is a tool that not only keeps users focused and aligned with their fitness goals but also keeps them motivated due to tracked progress.
