Abstract
Timber is a web application that connects outdoor enthusiasts with local hiking trails. It accesses the Trail API to pull trail locations near a given destination. After searching, it lists the 25 nearest trails, each with a profile including relevant information, a picture, and a link to a web page for the hike/park. Users will have the opportunity to “favorite” trails. Favorited trails are stored in a folder for the user to view at a later time. The user will have the opportunity to review trails that they have favorited, which will post to a news feed. A post to the news feed will also be made when a user has favorited a trail. The user will also have the ability to get directions from the application. Timber provides easier access to relatively unknown local trails.
