Abstract

Our hypotheses were:

  1. Soil from sample sites with more intense and frequent floods will have a higher silt content
  2. Sites with more intense and frequent floods will have greater numbers of woody plant species

Our results were:

  • There was no correlation between soil texture and flood zones
  • There was no correlation between silt content and total frequency of woody plants
  • There was no correlation between flood zone and total frequency of woody plants
  • There were interesting biodiversity differences by flood zone
