Abstract
Early in January, 1987, two students, Jeffrey Winters and Harold Buchholz, con- spired to start a magazine that would be "much more serious and professional than any campus magazine at DePauw in more than thirty years. 'They named their publication as the Midwestern Review. Winters wrote that the new magazine "will be . . . for students, faculty, staff, alumni, and friends of De- Pauw University who want to be informed about the issues, ideas, and literary cur- rents on campus ... and its focus will be on in-depth articles and fiction of high literary standards." The Midwestern Review has been published quarterly since 1987.
