Course Description
Examines the topic of gender behaviors and attitudes that relate to (but are not entirely congruent with) biological sex. Discussion of biological influences on gender, gender development, and influence of gender on various dimensions of daily life. This course explores the psychological aspects of gender, particularly the process of gender socialization in childhood, and the psychological significance of gender throughout the life-span, with a focus on the feelings, attitudes, and belief systems inherent in gender roles. The course explores research on both similarities and differences of males and females.
