Course Description

This course consists of private instruction on the trumpet. Topics for lessons will include subjects such as technical considerations of operating the trumpet, pedagogical techniques, trumpet literature, and overall performance aspects of trumpet playing.

Student Outcomes

• Develop the highest standards of personal musicianship, professional conduct, and performance. • Develop a broad knowledge of trumpet repertoire. • Develop pedagogical skills. • Improve the Student’s performance level on the trumpet. • Gain familiarity with significant composers, and compositions for trumpet • Cultivate a broad appreciation of a range of styles of music and performers including those who belong to marginalized groups. • Gain familiarity with the terminology used in professional musical settings.
