Techniques covered include slip casting methods and ceramic surface design. Assignments will challenge students to develop their creative practice by exploring complex issues, identifying relevant questions, refining concepts and techniques, and applying critical thinking to individual and group work. Students will present research on a technique or artist and generate a written artist statement that outlines their conceptual and technical approach to their artmaking. An interest in creativity, community, and collaboration is encouraged.
