Course Description
This course is centered around the study of the Spanish language with emphasis on the development of speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. An equally important component to this course is the study of Spanish-speaking cultures and practicing communication through authentic contexts. This course is designed for those students who have no prior experience in Spanish, or fewer than two years of high school Spanish.

Student Outcomes
Through successful completion of this course, students will be able to: 1) to comprehend basic ideas in spoken Spanish; 2) to utilize fundamental grammatical features of the Spanish language; 3) to express context-specific ideas and to carry out multiple practical tasks in Spanish; and 4) to recognize different cultures and communities from the Spanish-speaking world.
