Welcome to A Midwestern Review

Just like the Polaroid photos spread throughout this issue, we hope this book is a tangible thing for you to hold and cherish. Whether you sit down and read this book straight away or it sits on your shelf for the next twenty years until the collegiate nostalgia tugs, we hope you enjoy what we collected. We aim to give artistic expression to the students of our great school. Each semester we collect student submissions and meet in committees to discuss and evaluate each one. All submissions are blind - we initially read each one with no author names attached. We received an enormous amount of submissions this semester and enjoyed reading everyone. We are working hard to improve this review-- if you are interested in helping, then we would love for you to join. A Midwestern Review started in 1988. We strive to feature the best works of fiction, non-fiction, poetry, art, and photography by students attending DePauw University. This review is produced entirely by students. In our society full of eBooks and iPads, emails and attachments, we hope you value this touchable, corporeal, substantial book. Something to hold in your hands, not on your hard drive.
