A Note From The Editor:

I like to think of each copy of A Midwestern Review as a paper kaleidoscope. I picture you, a lonely freshman or a tired senior, coming across it, picking it up, and lazily thumbing through its pages. Perhaps you are only vaguely intrigued at first, or maybe you flip straight to your roommate's work and forsake the rest. But I hope you give it a real look, as you might peer into a kaleidoscope. Instead of confetti or colored beads, here you will find words and images tumbling around one another, forming broken but beautiful pictures of all the memories, ideas, and dreams that live here. These kaleidoscopic pictures connect us all across campus, as great pieces of literature and art connect us all across space and time.

As an editor, I am proud of what A Midwestern Review has to share with you this semester. Tumbling around in this kaleidoscope are musings on creativity, extended metaphors, dystopian scenes, and abstract photographs. I would like to thank the creators of the work within this issue for sharing it with us. I also give special thanks to our hardworking staff and faculty advisor, Emily Doak.
