Course Description
Reading, presenting, and discussing research are some of the key activities of biologists. In this course, students will wrap up their biology major by further developing all these skills, considering content across Biology, and engaging with each other and the instructors as a community of scientists.

Student Outcomes
1. Recognize and apply knowledge acquired in this and prior relevant courses at DePauw to new (or seemingly unrelated) situations.
2. Critically and efficiently search the primary literature, synthesizing information from multiple papers to identify unifying ideas.
2. Read and critically evaluate experimental design, results, and models presented in primary literature articles
3. Extract important content from review articles and original research publications, and demonstrate understanding of this content
4. Identify gaps in our knowledge within the context of papers being presented, and identify the next critical questions to be answered.
5. Prepare and present presentations effectively, leading discussions that follow presentations
6. Listen to seminar presentations and participate actively in discussions, asking critical questions
