Course Description
Critical analysis of the role of electronic news gathering and dissemination in modern society, including ethics and responsibilities. Study and practice in preparation, reporting and disseminating of news emphasizing documentary production, news analysis and public affairs reporting.

1. Become familiar with various styles of content development for electronic media (radio, television, podcasts and digital/Internet). 2. Critically think about and discuss controversial topics and concepts in electronic media. 3. Learn the importance of ethics and ethical decision making in electronic media. 4. Learn industry standards, techniques and expectations. 5. Develop skills in writing, producing and delivering electronic journalistic content. 6. Gain exposure to the journalism industry and career possibilities available in the field. 7. Become familiar with industry resources and professional organizations. 8. Create a portfolio of journalistic work.
