Course Description
Queer Francophone Identities (QFI) offers an exploration of contemporary notions of queer(ness) in the francophone world. Through a variety of cultural productions students will have the opportunity to study in depth how the term 'queer,' born in the Anglo-American world, is deployed in French- speaking spaces. Additionally, this course will examine how certain social actors, writers, activists, etc., use queer perspectives to expand our orientation towards space, time, social dynamics, geography, literature, identity, ethnicity, race, religion, and sexuality.
