Course Description
A course that enables the non-music major to understand the manner in which the elements of Western music are constructed and combined in order to form a coherent musical expression. Students will be able to express their opinions on music using field specific terminology, critique and compare musical performances, and explore new musical influences. This course will primarily focus on Western classical and popular music, with an emphasis on personal expression through artistic practice.
